DODGE Revisited

I’ve done a little more testing and got some input from some trusted game designer friends. I’ve tried/am trying some of the ideas from the previous blog post. So far, the defense roll is feeling pretty good:

When a player attacks, they roll 4 fudge dice and add it to their attack. The defender rolls 4 fudge dice and adds it to their defense. It adds just a little bit of chance and just a little feeling of agency/luck for the defender. Four dice isn’t enough to completely turn the game into RNG but it is enough to cause occasional misses/unexpected results. In short: 4xF=Spice.

We Have Dice

I don’t actually have any fudge dice on hand! I have a wooden die that I put +/-s in crayon on, but it’s really not optimal. To cover this situation for anyone who might not have dice on them, I’ve made a dice roller, which you can use here. I suggest turning the sound on as it gives it a nice tactility.

That’s a very brief update, because I mostly took a break this weekend. Site goes public soon! Just need to iron out the rules a little more and finish the content.
